Since 1977, the Clearwater Free Clinic has provided problem oriented health care to low-income uninsured residents of upper Pinellas County by means of office visits, medications, lab work, x-rays, and specialty referrals. The Clinic, a volunteer driven non-profit, non-government medical facility, provides primary health care at no cost to those who do not qualify for government assistance and who cannot afford private medical care.

For every $1 donated we’re able to provide over $5.50 in services through volunteerism and community partnerships.

Now, as Janet prepares to move to Georgia, she leaves behind a clinic she deeply loves. “If I wasn’t moving, I wouldn’t be leaving at all,” she said. While she’s exploring opportunities in hospice care and possibly volunteering at a local clinic, she promises to stay connected. With family in the area, she’ll be back to visit—and she won’t hesitate to pop in to check that Clearwater Free Clinic is still running a tight ship.
